Getting started

What you can do on Suede Social without an account, what an account unlocks, and a sensible first hour on the site.

Without an account

Most of Suede Social is readable logged out. You can read every article and counter-take, browse the pedal index and tone recipes, read the forum, check the Fluff Index, and look at any public Rig Card. If you only want the magazine, you never need to sign up.

What an account unlocks

  • A handle and a public profile at social.suedeai.ai/your-handle.
  • A Rig Card — the structured gear record the community side is built on.
  • Posting: forum threads and replies, comments on articles, and rebuttals to specific takes.
  • Voting on article debates — pick a side between the author and Johnny’s counter-take.
  • Following members and a feed of their activity.
  • Opting your rig into an AI roast, if you want one.

A sensible first hour

  1. 01Sign inUse Sign in with Apple or an email code. There is no password to invent. See Accounts & sign-in for the details.
  2. 02Claim your handleYour handle is your URL. Pick something you can say out loud at a gig. You can adjust profile details later in Settings.
  3. 03Build your Rig CardAdd your main guitar, amp, and board in Settings → Rig. Every field has its own visibility control, so share exactly as much as you want.
  4. 04Read one article and the counter-takeToggle to Johnny’s side before you vote. The debate mechanic is the fastest way to understand the editorial voice.
  5. 05Post where you already have an opinionThe forum rewards specifics. "Tube Screamer into a dark amp — worth it?" starts better conversations than "thoughts on overdrive?"
