Before the routine
Learn the moves, then prepare
Read or watch instruction first. Saved lesson evidence can satisfy preparation, or confirm that you have received instruction elsewhere and understand the exercise. These confirmations describe your preparation, not a skill test.
- Tune and recheck all six strings
- Form D and check each sounding string
- Form A and check each sounding string
- Move between D and A with a light anchor
- Understand how to count alternating changes
- Count four beats and attempt suitable A/D songs
